STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THE TREE!

This has become a new saying around the Groovy household, right up there with "Don't slam the door!"

Daughter is fascinated with the Christmas tree, so much so that the prickly needles have not deterred her in her quest to grab the ornaments. (We were told, by the tree grower, that the prickly needled trees don't get eaten by those bastard deer. Hence no nice, soft white pine this year.)

Son is no help in keeping Daughter away from the tree; they've been playing games around it and knocking ornaments down.

Seventeen days of this?

And, oh for the love of crap, there's a commercial on the tube for Captain and Tennille DVD's. Sweet Santa Claus.

Here's what you do, on the lower half of the tree just cut open the light string to expose the wiring inside and bend them pointing out. Plug in the string. When your kids hit it, they get a light jolt. One time is all they'll need to stay away from the tree.

That's why I don't have a tree... oh no.. wait... it's cause I'm Jewish. Right.

Yowch! ;)
Our only problem with the tree had to do with two 90 lb. goldens chasing each other and their strong tails whacking the ornaments right off the tree! We only have one, but we were dog sitting our dog's litter sister.

We have ours on a table and their are chair around the table with their backs facing outward as Branch and Blossom deterrants. I was hoping next year I could put the tree on the floor like a normal person but it's looking like that won't be possible. Maybe I should just go with a Festivus pole instead...

Isn't it funny what young children do to a household? We did the tencil stuff *don't ask* and I put it up just so-so. I even stipulated to the hubby that too much tencil in his areas made the tree look messy. Then, I fixed his part. Now...the tencil is all over the floor everyday. When I ask the girls how it got there, they have no idea of course. Now, the tencil on the bottom of the tree is of course, looking scarce.

If Son stays away from the tree, Daughter will too. she's happier to look, and I think the problem is the My Little Pony ornament I got her; she keeps wanting to take it off the tree.
