Linky Love

I think MotherGooseMouse is pretty cool, not only because she was in the Air Force, but because she was the picture of adult coolness when she had an actual conversation with a celebrity.

If that had been me, well...let's just say I'm a spastic weenie when it comes to stuff like this. I read the gossip rags and all that (I have no life, remember), so if I had come face-to-face with this person I probably would have verbally bitch-slapped her for her anti-America comments...and then asked her how big Brad Pitt's penis really is, handed her a Pampers coupon and run.

As for my celebrity sightings, let's see...when I was in NYC twenty years ago (yes, twenty years ago), I saw Penn of Penn & Teller in a deli; I met Brian Pohanka and Ed Bearss (Civil War historians) at a statue dedication for Col. Strong Vincent; and do local news people count???

I need to get out more.

I have to agree with a lot of the commenters over there -- as much as I dislike Gwynneth for her politics and her airs, the fact that she's trying to be a good parent covers a multitude of sins.

Thanks for the love, Vic!

I think I might have been a spastic weenie had I met Penn. I love Penn.

Ya, I thought Julie's encounter with fame was pretty cool.

I saw David Hasselhoff on the street in Vegas about 18 years ago. And if news guys count, a group of use went to the races in Cleveland and among our number was Carl Monday (used to be an investigative reporter for Channel 8)

My mom had a very close encounter...she turned a corner at a hotel in Vegas and literally ran into Vincent Price. She said she was looking down and when she looked up...and up...and up! He was a very tall man!

Oh, and I'd be the weenie spastic, too!

Anna, you should go tell Hector Vex you saw The Hoff...he loves that man.

My husband met (and has his picture taken with) Stephen Lang during filming of Gods and Generals. Husband said he was really nice, but Jeff Daniels was pretty stand-offish.

Hey -- I think I saw Penn in NYC around that time too -- it was 1986 and we were in the city for my high school class trip. How funny! I saw Michael J Fox that trip, too, when he was filming a movie.

Other than that, hmm. Saw Newt Gingrich once here in DC. A couple of authors and scholars at book signings. I have not had a celebrity-filled life, but then again I'm not sure I'd recognize one if they fell on me. ;-)
