I think I figured it out. I posted on the Cheney story early. It got linked by Memeorandum (http://www.memeorandum.com/), picked up by National Journal's Blogometer (http://blogometer.nationaljournal.com/archives/2006/02/228_rainy_day_m.html) and Kurtz (or one of his staff researchers) probably found it there.
So the secret is: blog early. Which means having to get up early. Damn!!
