Remember me listing the songs I'm listening to after you tagged me? One of them, Johnny Cash's "John Henry's Hammer", has a line that goes, "The spike went throughht the crosstie and split it half in two". That's what came to mind when I read this post, and sadly, I was drinking coffee at the time.
