Talkin' Insurance

Well, I'm not going to talk about insurance here, but this morning I had to go talk the talk with my insurance agent. I would say that we discussed the policies for about five minutes. The rest of the time we talked world events.

My insurance agent is anti-Bush. Pro-Hillary. He said it was a shame the way everyone was beating on Hillary. I rolled my eyes on that one.

I got out of there in a hurry and tried to keep my mouth shut. (How I wished I had David Drake with me, though). I was afraid if I mouthed off too much my agent would raise my premiums through the roof!

You were probably smart to keep your mouth shut. There are some people you don't want to argue politics with: insurance agents, doctors and lawyers! (Oh, and dentists could cause problems, too!)

I try at all costs to avoid knowing the political bent of "my" people like car repair, doc's, dentists, insurance people, etc. However, if they bring the topic up...and it's the same as mine, then GREAT. If it's different...I start shopping for another service. Not that the new service has to be the same as mine, I'd rather not know. But i'm not gonna patronize someone who could contribute "my money" to my political opponents.

And a tip of the bottle indeed to Dino Martin. What a great, smooth voice!

The funny thing was, I didn't even start that conversation. He asked if Husband was still in the National Guard (yes), what he does (can't talk about it here), and went on from there.

"Iraq is a quagmire!"

My clue as to how this man leans. He admits he never served in the military, but watched all the news reports during Vietnam, and Iraq is Vietnam.

And Hillary gets beat on? Hello?

You could shop for insurance on the Internet (liberal-leaning as it is) and avoid the editorials!
