In The Wrong Line of Work

Yesterday was Daughter's check-up with the ear doc. She still has a tube in her right ear, so I still have to take her in every six months to be checked out. Yesterday, though, set a new record.

We waited for an hour in the waiting room. During which time not only did I have to endure Regis and Kelly, but Ellen Degeneres as well.

Grrrrrrr....

So, yeah, we wait, like ya do, only to be called back and have to wait some more for this doctor with a God complex to grace us with his presence.

Bastard.

I was informed that Daughter must have had an ear infection (hmm?) and that there was a lot of gunk in there that needs to be cleared out. Here's some drops, see you in three weeks.

Whatwhatwhat???

I have to do this again in three weeks?

SONOFA....!!!!

I seriously messed up by not going to med school. Think of it, I could be a doctor in private practice and totally fook with people's lives!

If you live close to your doctor's office, call first and find out what the wait time is and then inform them that you will show up 10 minutes before you will be seen, not at your scheduled time because you refuse to wait in their waiting room longer than 10 minutes. The front office will get the message rather quickly and not keep you waiting.

I JUST left a pediatric practice for that exact reason. To expect a parent of a toddler to wait more than 10 minutes with said toddler is a load of crap.
I realize emergencies do come up for doctors, but they could at least tell the receptionist to make an announcement and offer those of us on non-emergency business (such as flu shots and re-checks) to re-schedule.
