If It's August 1...

...it must be time for me to take the younglings shopping for school clothes.

I had really good luck with Son; I even found shoes for him, but Daughter on the other hand....

Why is it that every pair of shorts or jeans for girls has some stupid embellishment on them? Argh! I just want a damn plain pair of blue jeans for a little girl!

And shoes! I had her feet measured and tried to fit shoes on her accordingly, and they were too big!

Not to mention the fact that fifteen minutes after we got to this wonderful mall, Son starts sulking and whining how tired he is. Dammit. It didn't help that we kept having to pass this playplace for kids...that they kept begging to go to the bookstore...that they were practically leaping into Build-A-Bear.

Somehow school clothes got left in the dust.

I'm going to have to take one kid at a time, I guess.

And why, when I went into Payless, someone measured the kids' feet, but there were no other such courtesies offered at any other shoe store? Am I asking to much to have my kids' feet measured properly?

Now you know why I only like shopping for books.
