Christmas Aftermath
Ah...now I can relax.
We've finished our Christmas dinner (turkey with all the fixings, thankewverramuch), and now I'm sitting here with a glass of wine (Riunite Bianco, don't get excited) listening to Ave Maria.
It was a good day, albeit an early one. Husband got up early, as is his custom, so I hopped up thinking I could watch the General Hospital episode I taped last night (after we watched a bit of The Godfather). No sooner did Jason (Steve Burton) appear onscreen with his new coif but the younglings were up and raring to go.
The kids got a lot of toys, DVD's, PlayStation games...Son was thrilled receive not only a documentary of the Titanic but a model as well. Daughter is now the proud owner of two new Disney Princess dolls, a Princess playhut, and the pop-up storybook playhouse.
For most of the day, I don't know what came over me, I was on a cleaning frenzy. What is it about Christmas that spurs me to clean obsessively? If I wasn't cleaning today I was online researching new washing machines.
True confession time: I miss a white Christmas. Oh sure, it was beautiful today, sunny, not too cold, but I miss the snow. Know what I mean? Every Christmas we've celebrated since we moved to OH has been green.
And don't go all al-Gore on me. I don't want to hear that "global warming" b.s.
Well, Husband has switched the music to Harry Connick Jr.'s "When My Heart Finds Christmas", and I need a refill on my wine. Somewhere around here there's a two-pound box of Stefanelli chocolates calling my name.
