It's Those Ears...AGAIN!!

I'm slowly going mad. MAD I tell you!

At exactly 12:00 A.M. Daughter was up crying because her ear hurt. Well, sure it does, she has yet another ear infection, but she's on Omnicef, and usually her pain stops after two or three doses.

I gave her some Motrin and put a couple numbing drops in her ear (prescription drops!). So this morning, she's all "What? What?" and then tells me that her other ear is starting to hurt!

Folks, you know what this means...tubes. Like I've said before, the process itself isn't that bad, and it made Daughter feel better. Even having to put ear plugs in her baby ears for every bath became such a habit...but I'm telling you I despise those two hour long waits in the ENT doc's office. He's a smug bastard who acts like he farts rainbows...and if it was just me the wait wouldn't be an issue, but when it's a four year old? Forget it.

I know this isn't Daughter's fault, really, but I thought we'd be over all this ear stuff after the first round of tubes. I live in a fool's paradise, no?

You must be referring to Dr. M? We too have had the pleasure of waiting in his office. We did the tube thing twice also, but after the tonsils and adenoids were gone...That was a magical transformation! Good Luck

One and the same. The funny thing is that the pediatrician (Dr. AK) said we should have had her adenoids out, but that she hasn't had tonsil issues...blahblahblah...

And so insurance won't pay for them to go or are you just hesitant? Beaux didn't have any tonsil or throat problems either, just constant ear infections. Now he has sooooo many stomach problems it isn't funny. I swear it is from the repeated antibiotics the first three years of his life. He was 2 yrs, 10 months old when we were going in the second time and they removed t & a and put tubes in again.
