May Is A Wash
Sometimes I wonder why I bother sending Son to school for the month of May. What's the point when they're going on field trips, having some "K-4 Celebration," and then there's something called "Hillbilly Olympics."
(Way to acknowledge our proximity to Appalachia...)
On Monday, the third and fourth graders are going to...get ready...the dump. Sorry, in P.C. terms I guess it's referred to as a landfill.
No matter how you phrase it, my kid is still going to the effing dump. I'm all for recycling but I think this is a bit much.
Oh well.

I agree that May is a waste! We are leaving for vacation on May 28 so that will be it for mine but they have the 8th grade trip to Gettysburg one weekend they have band concerts that they go to elsewhere to perform and those stupid achievement tests which pretty much stops school while they are going on. They had a dance for 7th and 8th grade so the kids were allowed to leave early that day.
I remember one particular field trip mine went on in maybe second grade? We went to the...county jail!!! They all thought it was great, they have school, a store, and they get to go outside and play.
Oh shoot...if your son wants to see Gettysburg, you'd be better off taking a trip on your own and taking me with you....that's my favorite place.
