Travel Blogging
We have returned from the state capitol, without too much damage.
I'll say this: I'm glad we hit Columbus on a weekend, because I wouldn't want to be downtown during the week!
We did some unexpected exploring, due to the consequences of my gender and poor planning on my part. Let that be all that's said about that!
The hotel was, if you can believe this, right behind the Ohio Republican Party! I took this as a good sign, and Husband even took a picture of the sign for me.
Now, on to that Star Wars exhibit...

If you go when it comes to your city, I will tell you this: if you decide to do the Milennium Falcon thing, be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait some more. Only four people can go in this thing at a time, and while the whole idea of traveling waaaaay outside the known limits of space was intresting, at four and a half minutes I have to wonder if it was worth it. Even if they did do that "jump to light speed" thing.
But the stuff on display! Costumes! They said these were actual costumes....and if that was true then Samuel L. Jackson is a very tall man. And Ewan McGregor would be the same height as me! Woooooooo!
Now, can you imagine that Swooner Dreamboat actually had this on? It gave me a thrill, let me say. He must have average sized feet too...
Anyway, that was Saturday. Today we went to the Columbus Zoo, taking a roundabout route, somehow winding up at The Ohio State University campus, whereupon we chanced to see "The Horseshoe." The last time I was there, Tom Tupa was the quarterback for the Buckeyes, so what does that tell you?
The zoo was BIG. No llamas, though, dammit!
Not long after we left the zoo, as we were coming to a stop, we heard a BOOM and thought "that's not good," and it wasn't. The front left rotor is shot to hell. So, La Tahoe (that bastard) will be going in to the shop tomorrow. But we made it home.
In sum, I hate people. Okay, I hate crowds. I'm amazed at how parents will just let their kids run wild like hooligans, not trying to keep any control on them. And they're rude little bastards, too.
Ah, my mind is swirling with all that needs to be done. And I'm tired.

I am people phobic. Enclosed spaces don't bother me, it's the people packing the spaces that freak me out!

What kills me is the lack of consideration. People with strollers just barging in all over everything...some kid shoved Daughter out of the way! And poor Son, he sooooo wanted to play with the "pin wall" and these hooligan kids were whaling the living daylights out of the thing. And their mothers were just standing there watching! Son stood there, waiting his turn (like a nice, polite person should) and these kids were being asses. Son gave up, and I got nasty with the moms. Gawd!
